Job Description: Assistant Service Manager

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Service Manager to join our team. The Assistant Service Manager will assist the Service Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service and efficient service processes. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong leadership abilities, and a solid automotive service background.

Responsibilities:
1. Support the Service Manager in overseeing and coordinating all operational aspects of the service department, including service advisors, technicians, and support staff.
2. Assist in ensuring the efficient and timely completion of service jobs by assigning responsibilities and monitoring progress to meet or exceed customer expectations.
3. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting and assisting customers, answering their queries, and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally.
4. Collaborate with service advisors and technicians to accurately diagnose and estimate repair costs for customers and maintain accurate repair records.
5. Assist in monitoring technician productivity and efficiency to maximize service department profitability, aiming to achieve set targets and KPIs.
6. Assist in managing and maintaining inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring appropriate stock levels to minimize delays in service completion.
7. Support the implementation and adherence to safety and quality control standards in the service department.
8. Assist in recruiting, training, and coaching service department staff to enhance their knowledge, skills, and capabilities.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, latest vehicle technologies, and manufacturer recalls to provide accurate and up-to-date information to customers and staff as required.
10. Provide necessary administrative support to the Service Manager, including preparing reports, tracking service metrics, and maintaining department records.

Requirements:
1. Minimum of [X] years of experience in an automotive service management role or similar position.
2. Proven experience in providing exceptional customer service.
3. Strong leadership and team management skills.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Solid understanding of automotive service processes and repair procedures.
6. Proficient in using computer systems, including service management software and Microsoft Office suite.
7. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
8. Knowledge of safety and quality control standards in an automotive service environment.
9. Familiarity with automotive technologies and willingness to continuously upgrade knowledge.
10. Valid driver's license.
